Create a Requisition - HSC FCO
Purpose
How to create a faculty, temporary part-time faculty (TPT) adjunct, or postdoctoral fellow requisition.
Applicability
Department level Hiring Coordinators who are responsible for the administrative oversight of the faculty, adjunct (TPT) and postdoctoral fellow posting.
Prerequisites
Hiring Coordinator access is managed via Hiring Coordinator role which can be requested via the Banner Authorization Requests (BAR) system.
Procedure
HSC Faculty Contracts Requisition submission deadline is 7 business days before the desired posting date.
Initiate Requisition
From navigation bar, hover over Recruit and click Manage Requisition
Under Options click Add Requisition
Select Position Classification and Requisition Template
Select the appropriate position classification for the Job Title by clicking on the open icon from the Position Class field. The pop up window will display all of the faculty, staff and student position classifications organized by employee classification. To view the list of position classifications, select the icon next to the desired employee class. Note: You can search for the desired position classification using the search feature at the top of the pop up window. Please note the employee classification listed under the Parent column to ensure that you select the appropriate employee classification (FY, FT, or FP) based on the type of position you are trying to hire.
Requisition template are formatted for each position classification and employment area. To select the correct requisition template, form the Requisition Template field click on the open icon From the pop up window, select the Health Sciences Center Faculty Template.

Description: Enter position summary in both EXTERNAL and INTERNAL Tab. If copying information from another document, use the paste from Word button

Qualifications: Enter both Minimum and Preferred Qualifications using the format in box. If copying information from another document, use the paste from Word button

Keywords: Enter key words that will be searchable by applicants (if desired).

Open an HTML editing tool such as: WordHTML or WordtoHTML.
Type or paste the text you want to use into the Word editor box
Refer to the HTML box/tab for the HTML code to use
Copy the HTML text
In the Job Req click on

Primary Owner: Hiring Coordinator (formerly Search Coordinator)
Owners: You can add additional owners here if desired for departments that have two or more staff on their faculty HR team
Applicant Reviewers
Hiring Manager: Department Approver (i.e. Department Administrator)
Reviewers: Add the search committee members to the reviewers section by selecting the Add Reviewers icon
. You will be brought to an alphabetical list of all active users in the system. It is recommended to search either by name on UNM ID number to locate the members of the search committee.
Once the committee member's record has been identified, select his/her name and continue searching for all additional committee members. Once all committee members have been identified, select the add icon
.
(Must consist of at least 3 members and must include one female and one minority. Cannot be the same person.)
IMPORTANT NOTE: If a search committee member is not a User in UNMJobs (i.e. a resident or an affiliate, etc ) please provide their First and Last name and email address in the Comments Box so access can be provided to review applicants.

The minimum number of approvals required by HSC FCO is stated below. To add the required approval categories, select the
icon next to Hiring Manager and User and select Done

To select the approver, select the open icon
. (See graphic below). The number next to the approver indicates the order which the requisition will be approved. HSC FCO requires the following approvers for both competitive and non-competitive hiring requests:
Department Approver ( = Hiring Manager)
HSC FCO Approvers using the "Or" statement (ex. Approver 1, HSC or Approver 2, HSC) for Faculty and
Approver 3, HSC for TPT's and Post Docs.
Please Note: If the minimum required approvals are not selected, the requisition will not be posted and the hiring request will not be approved by HSC FCO.
